A statewide indexing system is used to conduct the initial search. This search is by name only or name and date of birth. The information comes from the individual county courts. All counties are covered. All indexing systems are updated daily, weekly, bi-weekly or monthly. If there is a "no match" through the statewide indexing system, then the individual being searched is cleared by either name only or name and date of birth. If there is a "match" by name or name and date of birth, the information is then verified either at the statewide level and released with verifiable indicators such as name, date of birth and/or social security number or is pulled at the county court level with indicators to get final disposition information. Records that can be verified by name only are noted. |
A database is used that is searched by name or name and date of birth. The database is information that is updated weekly, monthly or quarterly. The information comes from either county or statewide sources. The "no match" or "match" information is then posted from the database information as either verified by name or name and date of birth. No further verification process is used. |
Request for information are made directly from the statewide agency that houses criminal record information. This information is as current as the reporting process of the counties in a given state reporting to the repository agency. There is no mandated time period in which counties are required to report to the statewide agency. Information is verified by name, date of birth and/or social security number. This search is not available in all states. (Please refer to price sheet for available areas) |
The initial search is performed by name only and if there is a full name match, then the name will be verified by using the social security number of the individual through the U.S. District Attorney's Office in the jurisdiction searched. The information includes all federal district courts within that state. The information may include both felony and misdemeanor information. |
Searches are performed directly from the county court levels. This information is verified by name, date of birth and sometimes social security number. The county court information will include felony level and sometimes misdemeanor level information. If misdemeanor information is not included within the same court as the felony charges, then the highest misdemeanor court will be searched. Felony-only county courts will be noted as such on any reports. Some county courts assess a search fee charge that will be included in any billing and noted on the invoice, if applicable. |
